Calibration Services

F&J has a state-of-the-art calibration laboratory.  Utilizing precision laminar flow elements, computer-controlled reference instruments, and computer-controlled flow sources, F&J can provide highly-accurate, repeatable, flow calibrations.  We can calibrate many air samplers and air flow calibrators, even if they aren't an F&J product.

Reference instruments are calibrated by the OEM and traceable to N.I.S.T. (National Institute of Standards and Technology).  Complete documentation with "As Found" and "As Left" data are maintained by F&J and the OEM.

Documented procedures are used to calibrate both new and in-service equipment.  Procedures are controlled using an ISO 9001-2008 compliant document control system as part of our Quality Program.

"As Received" or "As Found" data is obtained on all instruments returned to F&J for recalibration unless a mechanical or electronic problem with the instrument prevents the obtaining of that data.

F&J can calibrate its digital airflow calibrators and digital air samplers to four different reference standards.  These four standards are:

Classical Standard Temperature and Pressure (STP): 0°C, 760mmHg
Normal Temperature and Pressure (NTP): 20°C, 760mmHg
Standard Ambient Temperature and Pressure (SATP): 25°C, 760mmHg
Modified Normal Temperature and Pressure (MNTP): 70°F, 1 ATM

Calibration of airflow instruments to the proper reference standard facilitates the users ability to comply with a specific regulatory reference standard and allows airflow measurements to be comparable at the same T and P so as to ensure proper comparisons of volumes and flowrates among different sample locations and among different sampling periods.

Flow Verification - Customers can be assured that calibrations performed at our facility are accurate.  Several times a year, F&J will calibrate products and send those products to an independent flow calibration laboratory.  The independent laboratory performs a comparison of the flow rate of F&J products versus a highly accurate primary flow standard.
